Some essential office gear I would like to have on my desk:
1. The Conquerant notebook, one of many variations of this French line that boasts extra blanc satine optik paper. I picked up an A4-size, vinyl cover Super Conquerant in Paris a while back, and I should have purchased a case of them. Pens glide but never smear; pencils are like velvet on velvet.
2. Pilot-Namiki Capless Decimo fountain pen in pearl white, a slimmer, lighter cousin to the Namiki Vanishing Point, an exclusive and now legendary Japanese product. Notice that the business end and the clip are together. That’s right; the nib is retractable, providing a practical feature—not to mention a conversation starter when you click this gem into action to sign a restaurant receipt. Top-flight performance is well documented; unparalleled coolness is obvious.
The Conquerant is almost impossible to find stateside; the Decimo is still clocking in at just under 2 large bills.
